High-contrast E-Ink, NASA Mission Control Dark, and radar telemetry design

Mission control telemetry interfaces require instant legibility, high data density, and clear visual hierarchy under varied lighting environments.

Artemis Velocity Vis implements 3 distinct cartographic themes powered by client-side GPU tile filters:

1. GPU Tile Layer Filter Pipelines

  • E-Ink Terminal: Converts color OpenStreetMap tiles into electronic paper: filter: grayscale(100%) contrast(140%) brightness(102%);
  • NASA Mission Control Dark: Deep obsidian base with radar cyan and amber alert accents: filter: brightness(95%) contrast(110%);
  • Satellite Reconnaissance: Calibrated ESRI imagery for maximum polyline contrast.

2. Hardware-Accelerated Radar Beacon

The spacecraft marker projects a pulsating radar ping ring powered by pure CSS keyframe animations:
